Southline Eye Surgery Centre was established in 1989 by Dr Paul Hughes who saw the need for a dedicated Ophthalmic Day Surgery. Southline became a member of Vision Group Holdings in May 2006 and has since become Vision Eye Institute Southline.

The centre provides excellence in surgical eye care delivered in a personal, caring, cost effective and compassionate environment.

This facility has sophisticated, state of the art equipment, which ensures safe and comfortable treatment for patients.

Vision Eye Institute Southline is licensed with the New South Wales Department of Health and ISO 9001:2000 accredited with SAI Global Assurance Services, we follow strict practice guidelines to ensure patients undergoing day procedures receive safe and comprehensive care.

Vision Eye Institute Southline has contracts with the major health care providers in Australia.

We are a patient focused team working together to provide each individual with the very best care.

The aim of the Vision Eye Institute Southline is to provide a full range of ophthalmic services, including:

    • The team consists of 2 full time RN’s, 5 casual RN’s and 2 casual EN’s and one full time theatre clerk and 3 part time.


    Two Vision Group partners operate, one associate Ophthalmologist and one visiting Ophthalmologist.


    The Day Surgery operates Tuesday to Friday and one Monday a month.
